THE LIPS OF THE PRIEST :
Unlocking True Prosperity by the Words of Knowledge and Teaching.

Today, we are witnessing a disheartening paradox in the Christian world: many believers are drowning in spiritual and material poverty despite being surrounded by preachers, prophets, apostles, and evangelists. From every direction, we hear teachings on prosperity, wealth, success, and victory, but the reality on the ground often contradicts the message. It’s a world where many Christians are constantly giving tithes, special offerings, and sacrificing for breakthrough, yet they find themselves still trapped in financial struggle, broken relationships, and unfulfilled spiritual lives.
The question that lingers is: Why are so many believers still living in lack when they have so many men and women of God surrounding them? What is the disconnect? Why is it that despite all their sacrifices, many Christians seem further from prosperity, rather than closer?

THE CORE ISSUE: The Ignorance of the Authentication of the Law by Both Priests and Believers

The core issue here is not a lack of sacrifice or effort, but a deeper lack of knowledge — particularly the right knowledge of God’s Word and the proper teaching of that Word. The Bible clearly indicates that prosperity is not just about financial abundance but about the wholeness of lifespiritual, relational, emotional, and material. Yet, so many believers remain impoverished, not because of their lack of giving, but because they have been misled by false teaching and ignorance of the truth.

This lack of knowledge — especially of God’s Word — has devastating consequences. In Hosea 4:6, God declares:

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being a priest for Me..."

God is clear: when His people lack knowledge, their lives suffer. But this is not just an intellectual ignorance; it is the rejection of true knowledge — the authentic Word of God that has the power to transform lives.

This is where Malachi 2:7-9 comes in. God says to the priests:

"For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, and people should seek the law from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts. But you have departed from the way; you have caused many to stumble at the law. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi, says the Lord of hosts. Therefore I also have made you contemptible and base before all the people, because you have not kept My ways, but have shown partiality in the law."

In this powerful statement, God addresses the priests — those who are supposed to teach and guide His people with the truth of His Word. Instead, the priests have departed from the truth, misguided the people, and corrupted the covenant. As a result, God’s people have been led astray, and their lives are marked by spiritual poverty and material lack. The lips of the priests should be filled with knowledge, teaching the people the authentic Word of God, unlocking prosperity in all its forms.

THE MISLEADING PROPHECIES: False Peace and Prosperity

This disconnect between knowledge of the Word and prosperity is compounded by the false prophecies and misleading teachings that circulate in the Church. Prosperity preachers often oversimplify the matter, claiming that prosperity is simply about giving more or having a positive confession. But these half-truths have led believers into a state of perpetual disappointment.

In Jeremiah 9:11, we read a prophetic warning about those who speak peace where there is no peace:

"They have healed the hurt of My people slightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ when there is no peace."

This speaks to a situation where false assurances are being offered to people — empty promises of prosperity, wealth, and peace that ultimately fall short. These false promises of prosperity become more like a band-aid than a true cure. People are encouraged to sow, give, and pray for prosperity, but without a solid foundation of sound biblical teaching, their efforts often end in frustration and failure.

THE PROPHETIC RESTORATION: Raising True Teachers

But the prophetic solution for this spiritual crisis is clear: God is raising up true teachers who will restore authentic teaching and lead His people back to the Word of God. This is the heart of God’s restoration plan — to raise shepherds after His own heart, who will teach His people with knowledge and understanding.

In Jeremiah 3:15, God speaks of His intention to restore His people by giving them faithful teachers:

"Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding."

True prosperity will only come when God’s Word is rightly taught, rightly divided, and authentically applied in the lives of believers. The church today needs teachers who are committed to biblical truth, not just to hype or motivation, but to the teaching of the full counsel of God’s Word. Without this, prosperity remains a distant hope for many.

TRUE PROSPERITY COMES THROUGH TEACHING THE WORD

God has always linked true prosperity to the faithful teaching of His Word. The prosperity we seek — not only in our finances but in our health, relationships, and spiritual lives — can only be unlocked through a deep understanding of God’s Word. And this understanding comes only through sound teaching.

In 2 Peter 1:19-21, we read:
"We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place..."

The Word of God is the light that guides us out of darkness and into prosperity. It is reliable, it is trustworthy, and it is the foundation for true blessing. But this Word must be taughtcorrectly, faithfully, and without compromise.

Paul’s Example: The Ephesus Church Transformation.

We see a powerful example of this in the life of Paul and his ministry in Ephesus. In Acts 19, Paul preached the Word in the synagogue until opposition arose. He then moved to the Hall of Tyrannus, where he taught daily for two years. And the results were profound.

"So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed." (Acts 19:20)

The Ephesus church was transformed because Paul didn’t just preach a message of quick prosperity. He taught the Word faithfully, with depth and clarity. This teaching didn’t just bring spiritual revival; it also led to lasting transformation in the community. Prosperity in Ephesus wasn’t just about wealth; it was about the prosperity of souls, minds, and hearts that were aligned with the Word of God.

THE PATH TO TRUE PROSPERITY: Return to the Teaching Ministry

The message is clear: true prosperity is unlocked through the Word of God, and that Word is most effectively delivered through authentic teaching ministries. The failure of prosperity in many Christian lives is not a result of lack of giving or lack of prayer, but a lack of sound teaching.

As Malachi 2:7-9 reminds us,
"For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, and people should seek the law from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts."

The prosperity that we are all seeking — whether financial, relational, or spiritual — is unlocked when the true Word of God is taught. We need priests, pastors, and teachers who will faithfully declare the Word of God, authentically and without compromise.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION:
"Father, we pray for a restoration of the teaching ministry in the Church. Raise up true shepherds who will faithfully teach Your Word and lead Your people into the prosperity that comes from knowing and living by Your truth. May Your Word grow mightily in us and bring the transformation we seek. In Jesus' name, Amen."

CONCLUSION: A Call for True Teachers.

Beloved, as we look around us, it is clear that many of us have been misled by false teachings. But the Word of God is clear: true prosperity comes through knowledge. It is time for the Church to reclaim the teaching ministry and raise up true shepherds who will lead us into the prosperity that God has promised. Prosperity is not just about giving more or trying harder. It is about returning to the Word and living according to it.May we seek the true knowledge of God’s Word, and may the lips of the priests bring forth teachings that unlock the true prosperity — not just in our finances, but in our whole lives. The time has come for the Church to embrace true teaching and see the prosperity that follows.
